I admit, freely, that I hate breakfast. I don’t like feeling weighed down with heavier breakfasts, don’t love eggs, pancakes or jams – but I also don’t like to take the time to cook up something healthy. Even when I force myself to eat breakfast, I eat avocado toast… Which I flavour with garlic and pretty much turn into guacamole on a piece of toast I can’t really taste. But I do love the idea of breakfast. The idea that you start off your day with a full stomach with a nice looking bowl of healthy, filling food so you don’t make the 10am “OMG I AM STARVING” mistake of eating whatever you happen to have available. Or be available in the vending machines by your desk.
But enter the smoothie bowl. A bowl full of healthy fruits, nuts and yogurts that are elegantly placed in a delightfully stylish bowl is absolutely living la vie en luxe. I’m not completely sold on my ability to present these bowls in this manner on an everyday basis, but I am completely sold on them being a delightfully luxurious way to start the day. Perfect for someone trying to not only eat better, but incorporate little luxuries along the way.
